Hugworks Receives Award

On behalf of Jannetti Publications, Pediatric Nursing
presente the 2006 Pediatric Nursing Humanitarian
Award to Jim Newton, President and Founder, and
Paul Hill, Executive Producer, of Hugworks at the
22nd Annual Pediatric Nursing Conference. The award
was presented at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dallas,
on Thursday, September 14, 2006.
Through the Hugworks organization, Newton and Hill
have consistently written, produced and recorded
songs specifically for kids that brings out the best in
children. Hugworks, originally known as the
Celebration Shop, has distributed a total of more
than 124,000 cassettes, CDs and songbooks
throughout North America and beyond since the
1980s.
Hugworks is now celebrating 25 years of service.
Newton and Hill continue regular tours to hospitals
and schools, spreading healing and hope through
music and singing. In recognition of this service to
children and families, Jim, Paul and Hugworks
received the Elisabeth Kubler-Ross Award for
Outstanding Contribution to the World of Children's
Hospice Care in Vienna, Austria in November 1999.
