What is Music Therapy? Well, to put it simply, it is using music to achieve non-musical goals. Empirical research has shown that music therapy changes lives by managing pain and discomfort, reducing anxiety and stress, and facilitating expression of feelings
Currently, Hugworks has three Music Therapists who work at our center and in the Dallas/Fort Worth area children's hospitals. All of our Music Therapists are board-certified and bring a great deal of experience, knowledge and compassion to each child.
Since the demand for Music Therapy exceeds the supply, Hugworks is always developing ideas on how to fund and expand this direct service for children. |
